The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, perfect for enjoying the surrounding winter views. The staff is exceptionally friendly and obliging, making the stay pleasant. However, the bathroom shower unit showed signs of rust, which was a drawback. The gardens and outdoor pool at the foot of BoxHill are great features to look forward to.

The rooms are a bit challenging to navigate due to winding corridors, but they effectively reduce noise. The suite, although a bit hidden, has an archaic charm. It was disappointing that cleaning services were not available during my stay, including a change of towels.

The housekeeping staff are very friendly and welcoming, offering a cup of coffee or even a glass of wine. They tried their best to compensate for the absence of other available staff members, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The surroundings, even in winter, are beautiful, and the hotel's proximity to walks nearby is a bonus. Being at the foot of BoxHill offers great views, but the continuous heating was a minor inconvenience.

The dining options were limited, with only a cheap croissant available. It would have been nice to have more diverse choices, like fried or poached eggs. The promise of fresh and local products wasn't fully met.

The hotel had its ups and downs with a fantastic sheltered terrace in the room but lacked cleanliness with cobwebs, dust, and food scraps under the furniture. The staff were a mix of wonderful and rude, unable to program key cards due to technical issues. The location was excellent, near Box Hill with great walks nearby, but there were disturbances from wedding celebrations each night. The dining experience was subpar with self-service and cold food. The facilities seemed average, missing extraordinary dishes and a vast breakfast choice, although the full-size swimming pool was a highlight.
